WEFTEC 2019 – Pump manufacturer Pleuger presents end-to-end solutions for the water industry

The Water Environment Federation’s Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC) is the largest water quality exhibition in North America. From September 23 to 25, 2019, Pleuger, pioneer of high-quality submersible motor pumps since 1929, will present in Chicago its latest pump solutions to leading experts in hydraulic engineering, environmental technology, urban water management, flood protection and process water supply.

Water is the basis of public health, safety and a necessary means of production. Nevertheless, many countries are unable to provide their cities, farms and farmland with sufficient water. The World Health Organization found that economic losses due to inadequate water supply and sanitation costs 260 billion dollars a year. This is offset by too much water: The latest changes in precipitation patterns make reliable flood protection and soil drainage a strategic challenge for many municipalities. Pleuger has extensive knowledge in these sectors and is positioning itself at WEFTEC as a supplier of durable submersible motor pumps in the water industries mentioned.

This year’s WEFTEC in Chicago stands for Pleuger under the sign of sustainability: The showcased well, polder and pressure booster units are time and wear resistant, climate efficient and enable cost-effective water transport. Pleuger’s permanent magnet motors increase efficiency by up to 14 percentage points thereby reducing CO2 emissions. The environmentally friendly pump units protect against flooding and pump large quantities of water at low pressure. Since 90% of the life cycle costs of a submersible motor pump are directly related to power consumption, Pleuger’s efficient motors save energy, time and money. Pleuger’s submersible motor pumps for hot water applications have already been used in many district heating projects in Europe.
